During the past month I’ve attended several presentations and listened to webinars and thought that I would share some of the websites mentioned.
Guild Of One Name Studies or GOONS
Stuck on a surname? Not sure where to search for it? Try the GOONS. This site is worldwide and people register their One Name Study, in the hope of finding family, to share their information or just because they want to. No cost to register and you could find that long lost branch. Have a browse on the website and why not register that surname you are stuck on, you might be surprised! http://one-name.org/
European Ancestors
Julie Goucher finally was able to present her webinar, on Tracing Your European Ancestors and it was great. Julie explained that the Europe we see now, is very different from the Europe of our ancestors. Borders changed, towns that were in one country then, might be in a different one now.
